Jae Beom: Where were you?

Me: I went to a bakery~. See!

I showed the bag of Paris Baguette. Taecyeon suddenly turned off the TV.

Taek: You were with Ki Bum right?

Me [sighing]: Yes. And?

Jay turned around to exchange glances with Taek. They both shook their heads as if they understood something together and would prefer deny it. Taecyeon stood up and took the cake… to eat it.

Me: HEY! THIS IS MY CAKE!

Taecyeon [eating it]: Too late.

Me: TAEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TT.TT

Jae Beom: TAECYEON! LEAVE ME SOME!

Me: YAHHHHHHHHH!

Why I gave some extra keys to the other 2PM?!

I stared at the cakes… and pointed the strawberry cheesecake. Ki Bum told me to find a table for us as he paid for the cakes and drinks. I chose a table in a corner and sat there.

I knew I shouldn’t have picked a cheesecake. It reminded me of the times when Khun bought or made some for me…

Ki Bum sat in front of me with a tray of cakes and drinks. I took a fork and enjoyed eating my piece of cake. I totally love cheesecakes~!

Me: Ki Bum… you aren’t eating?

I pointed his tiramisu with my fork. Ki Bum smiled.

Ki Bum: You do like this kind of cake…

Me: I do! Khun used to make these cakes for me…

Ki Bum: Oh…

The atmosphere turned awkward as I realised I shouldn’t have mentioned Nichkhun to my own displeasure and his… I drank the tea and smiled.

Me: Thank you Ki Bum~ it was good! ^^ I think I have to go now…

Ki Bum [standing up]: Wait~! It’s quite late so… where do you live?

Me: Oh… it’s ok! Don’t worry~ ^^

I was amazed that he was stubborn. He took the bus with me. He didn’t eat his cake so he asked the cashier if he could have a bag for it. The entire ride was quiet and when we stopped at my apartment, I gently thanked him once again.

Ki Bum: Here. You can have my cake.

Me: Really?

He nodded and looked away. I chuckled and took the bag.

Me: Be careful!

He walked away to the elevator as he waved silently. I took my keys and opened the door. As I turned on the lights, I yelped when I saw Jay right in front of me with a concern look. Taek was watching TV…

Ki Bum suddenly stopped. He was irritated to be followed.

Ki Bum [throwing his bag on the snow]: WILL YOU GUYS STOP THIS NONSENSE?! PLEASE!

Eun Hyuk: But! But we want to know~!

Ki Bum [taking his bag back]: NO!

He ran off but the guys won’t leave him alone that easily. School was over but I decided to wander a little. I was walking until I saw a guy running… and 12 other guys running after him. I decided to help…

I waited behind some bushes and when Ki Bum got closer; I pulled him and hid him. We waited for the suju to be far away before getting out of our hideout.

Me: Here you go~ ^^

Ki Bum [blinking]: You were here? O.o what were you doing in the bushes?

Me: I wanted to help you… why they kept stalking you?

He chuckled when I mentioned “stalking”. We started to walk the opposite direction the suju took.

Me: Oh! I forgot~ we have a project to do right?

Ki Bum: Actually, I finished the lab report while you were sleeping…

Me: AWW! D:

I pouted. I didn’t want him to do the entire job… He suddenly pinched my cheeks.

Ki Bum [laughing]: Quite adorable~

Me: Huh… thanks~

We walked next to a cake shop. Ki Bum saw my curiosity as I stopped to look at the cakes. We entered and I was acting like a kid. I looked at the cakes happily… I tried to find my wallet in my bag… and I had no money.

Ki Bum: What do you want? I’ll buy it for you.

Me: Really? Thank you!

Ki Bum: So, what do you want?

Hee Chul [shouting]: YAH! Watch where you’re going!

Me [bowing]: I said I was sorry~

Sung Min: Oh… are you that girl from this morning?

I looked up and gasped at the bunch of guys staring at me curiously. Some nodded and others smiled brightly.

Dong Hae [putting his arm around my neck]: It’s her! You were with Ki Bum right?

Me: Hmm… Yeah.

Kyu Hyun [smirking]: Totally Hyung’ type!

They started to giggle and I really didn’t know what they were talking about. Suddenly, someone grabbed my arm and 6 tall guys came.

Chan Sung: What are you guys doing to our Rinnie?!

They glared at each other, the beasts roaring their discontent. For a moment, I was relieved that they were here since I was feeling intimidated, surrounding by 12 guys.

Ki Bum came in, still dazed, until fans came to him. They all started to tell him that they might be a fight with super junior and 2PM. He followed them and he saw his friends arguing with 2PM. A huge crowd was watching the scene with the teachers coming to our direction.

Me: Yah! Jun Ho, Jun Su, Jae Beom, Chan Sung, Taek and Woo Young! STOP IT!!!

Jun Ho: What were they doing to you huh?!

Jae Beom: Are you ok?! They didn’t hurt you right?!

Eun Hyuk [pissed off]: YAH! We didn’t do anything to “your” Rinnie!

Taek [hissing]: As if~ you were like bunch of animals surrounding her!

They all groaned like beasts. I was disappointed by their straightforwardness… they didn’t do anything wrong! O.O I heard footsteps and I turned around to see Ki Bum.

Ki Bum: What happened? O.o

Everyone stared at him. Taecyeon did a hand gesture telling the guys to drag me with them as they left the hallway. I was used to this kind of thing so I shyly waved goodbye to Ki Bum. He simply nodded. Everything returned to normal until the super junior nudged the second youngest.

Ee Teuk: God… did you skip class to find her?

Kang In and Hee Chul: Interesting…

Ki Bum didn’t reply and decided to leave quietly… with a bunch of guys following him nonstop.

Me [giving him the gift]: Here you go.

He blinked and sat against the tree. He opened the gift slowly and I stared at him, curious of what he was actually doing.

Ki Bum: You can have it Rinnie. It’s actually a pair of tickets and an opportunity to shop for a day without paying.

Me: Who’s going to pay?! O.o

Ki Bum: Me.

I was totally confused. Was it his gift? He gave me a ticket and kept the other one.

Ki Bum: Let’s bring your smile back~

He grinned brightly and I blushed. Ki Bum saw I cried and decided to use his gift he was supposed to give to someone else… just to make me smile again.

Me: You know… I don’t think this would cheer me up a lot.

Ki Bum: I know. But I really want to see the cheerful Rinnie.

Me [raising an eyebrow]: You’re truly one of my classmates right? Since the beginning of the year?!

Ki Bum [giggling]: Of course! You were pretty outstanding. You know, being with 2PM, being the new student and the only girl hanging with them, I don’t think you’ll be invisible to the students…

I blushed. It was such a dumb question…

Ki Bum: Should we go now? The bell’s going to ring soon!

Me: Ok… I’ll go before the others get worried… ¬¬ Over-protective 2PM…

I sighed and politely gave a hug to Ki Bum like I used to do to everyone and left. He sat against the tree, hiding his wide opened mouth.

I ran in the hallway and I heard the bell. Students all rushed out of their classroom… I tried to find Jae Beom and the others when I bumped on someone. I looked up, saying sorry several times… and gawked.

Was he one of the guys in super junior? O.o

He immediately glared at me, holding a mirror. The other members came and I panicked: I was outnumbered here! It was a good thing I learnt their names but I wasn’t too sure which one was who…

I froze when I felt a pat on my head and I knew it was Bummie. I turned around and startled. DAWN! He was so close to my face for a second! O.O

Suddenly, I remembered about the gift and clapped my hands. I stood up.

Me: Ki Bum! You forgot a gift last time~ Wait here!

He suddenly grabbed my arm. I looked down. Bummie was looking onward, sitting still on the snow.

Ki Bum: That gift… I don’t need it anymore.

Me: Why? You bought it as a Christmas gift for a certain person right? Would it be appropriate if I give it back to you?

He didn’t move an inch. Ki Bum, lost in his thoughts, let go of my arm and I ran off to get the gift that was in my locker. He noticed that I vanished and sighed.

He fell on the snow and did an angel.

Ki Bum [whispering softly]: The gift’s yours babo…

“YAH RINNIE AH” someone yelled in the hallway. I stopped and saw that it was Jun Ho and Woo Young! They ran towards me and hugged me.

Jun Ho: Are you alright now?

Me [nodding]: Yes~ but why are you guys wandering in the hallway?

Woo Young [Ang! Ang! TT.TT]: We were worried about you! Plus, the teachers ordered us to get something.

Me: Oh…

Jun Ho: What’s this? O.o

He pointed the nicely decorated box in my hands. If Taecyeon were here with them, he would twitch his eyebrows… ¬¬

Me: Oh~ I must return this to its owner~

Woo Young: You’re saying this as if the gift was a pet. ¬¬

Me: Hehe. Perhaps~

They ran off after realising class was almost over and they didn’t get the stuff their teacher ordered them to get. I ran outside with the gift and I couldn’t find Ki Bum everywhere.

Then, I saw him lying ion the snow, doing an angel. I chuckled and went to him.

I shut my mouth and slowly shook my head. He laughed and patted my head. I unknowingly hugged the white scarf. Ki Bum was staring at me and it was kind of intimidating… I froze when I felt the back of his right cold hand touching my rosy cheeks. It soon traveled up to my forehand, brushing away my hair in front of my face.

Ki Bum: You’re having a little fever.

He removed his hands and seemed anxious. I touched my forehead and weakly smiled.

Me: Ha… maybe it’s because I can’t sleep properly these past few days…

It was the same dream, over and over again. I would often wake up covered of sweats and hot tears falling across my face. Just when I could see him, Khun would smile softly, slowly leaving me behind. I kept chasing him, but it was no use. He won’t stop and turn around…

Ki Bum [frowning]: You’ll get sicker if you kept going outside wearing only an autumn coat with no sweater under it!

Me: I was in a hurry this morning! I won’t forget the sweater tomorrow! I promise!

Ki Bum [smiling]: I was kidding Rinnie… but it’s fine if you do.

I shyly nodded.

Me: Ki Bum… why are you skipping classes?

Ki Bum: Oh! I was worried about my classmate~

Me: Classmate?! O.o

Ki Bum [giggling]: Yes. She’s right in front of me.

I blushed, realising I was an idiot. Looking away, I noticed the birds flying freely in the sky. Something about them made me envious. The birds can fly wherever they wanted to… freedom. Somehow, even in my childhood, I’ve never felt free for once. But, being with someone you dearly love… equals this value.

Freedom brought happiness. Love brought happiness too. But once gone, everything’s over.
